Easy bake oven manual – When I was in first grade, my best friend had an Easy Bake Oven. I did not, like thousands of other American girls of the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s. Hasbro’s recall this year of a million Easy Bake ovens (those produced after May 2006 and that do not use a light bulb) triggered my own recall of sorts: this of a desire to make the precious, tiny, albeit mediocre-tasting cakes whenever I wanted. Now I realize, I wasn’t alone in that longing.

My best friend got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas and I was soooo envious. Then we baked a couple of those crappy tasting little cakes. I was dissappointed and almost incredulous. I was sure this little machine would make the BEST cakes we ever tasted. But it sucked. And she loved it.

I also had a Suzy Homemaker soda fountain that had compartments for syrup and seltzer came out in the middle (like a 1950s soda fountain.) That too was aqua and white – I think all of the Suzy Homemaker products were, and they had a white cameo. That alas, is gone. But I still have my Barbie airplane. Ken was the pilot and Barbie the stewardess. Gotta love the 1970s.
